Verso is a feed reader operated by Fair Copy L.L.C.

What we store

Your email address, the feeds you subscribe to, and what you've read, starred, and tagged. Read states are needed to identify unread entries. We also keep a record of your purchase.

Pages you save to read later are stored the same way: the address, the article text we fetched from it, and whether you've read it. Verso fetches that page from our servers, so the site never sees your IP address or your browser — and removing a saved page deletes it, text and all. Nothing about a saved page is shared with anyone.

What we don't

Verso does not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, tracking pixels, session recording, or data brokers. We do not sell or share your reading, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models. Entries are ordered newest-first; Verso does not rank, score, or profile what you read.

Images in articles

Images inside articles are fetched by Verso and served from our own domain rather than loaded from the publisher. That means publishers and their image hosts never see your IP address, your browser, or which of their articles you opened. Verso serves the images this way to keep those requests on our domain.

Cookies

Four, all first-party, all functional: one keeps you signed in, one remembers your theme, one remembers how you sized the reading panes, and one carries a short-lived challenge while you register a passkey. None of them track you, and there are no third-party cookies to refuse.

Email and payments

Sign-in codes are sent through Cloudflare's email service. Purchases go through Polar, our merchant of record — you enter your payment details on Polar's checkout, not ours, and we never see or store your card. Polar tells us that an order was paid and which account it belongs to; that's all we receive.

Where it lives

Verso runs on Cloudflare's network, and your data is stored in Cloudflare's databases and object storage. Feed crawling logs — which servers we fetched, and how they answered — are kept for 14 days on a rolling basis to monitor crawler behavior, and then discarded.

Leaving

Export your subscriptions as OPML from Settings at any time, including after a trial ends. To delete your account, write to us and we'll remove it — your subscriptions, read states, and stars along with it — and confirm when it's gone.
